The demand in the supply chain industry and maritime logistics fields has increased dramatically in the last decades. The Supply Chain and Maritime Logistics program is designed to provide students with an integrated working knowledge of how goods flow globally and domestically from origin to destination using an array of storage facilities, information technology, and multiple transportation modes, with a special focus on maritime logistics. The graduates of this program will have the skills and proficiencies that are critical to regional, national, and international shipping, transportation, and distribution industries. The coursework balances theory and concepts with experiential learning connected to real-world problems. Courses are building on the disciplines of analytics, leadership, law, technology and transportation to examine the interdisciplinary nature of the global supply chains.

Requirements for Graduation
Requirements for graduation include the following:
- Minimum of 120 credit hours.
- Minimum of 30 credit hours overall and 12 credit hours of upper-level courses in the major program from Old Dominion University.
- Minimum overall cumulative grade point average of C (2.00) in all courses taken.
- Minimum overall cumulative grade point average of C (2.00) in all courses taken toward the major.
- Minimum overall cumulative grade point average of C (2.00) in all courses taken toward a minor.
- Completion of ENGL 110C, ENGL 211C or ENGL 231C, and the writing intensive (W) course in the major with a grade of C or better. The W course must be taken at Old Dominion University.
- Completion of Senior Assessment.

Note regarding the approved program elective courses:
- To focus studies in Maritime Logistics, the student can take 3 program elective courses from the following: HIST 359, SCLM 380, SCLM 415, SCLM 419, SCLM 442, SCLM 443, SCLM 481, SCLM 495, or SCLM 497.
- To focus studies in Port, Ships, and Shipyard Operations, the student can take 3 program elective courses from the following: SCLM 311, SCLM 471, SCLM 472, SCLM 473, SCLM 474, SCLM 486, SCLM 495, or SCLM 497.

Elective courses may be taken for the remainder of the minimum 120 credits required for the degree.
Honors Program in Interdisciplinary Studies
Qualified students in the interdisciplinary studies majors may earn honors by fulfilling all degree requirements and meeting the honors requirements listed below.
- Attain an overall grade point average of 3.25.
- Attain a grade point average in the major of 3.5.
- Complete two upper-division courses designated as honors courses: IDS 300W and IDS 493.
- Complete at least 60 credits at Old Dominion University, 54 of which must be in grade-point graded courses.
An application for departmental honors must be provided by the student for approval by the Director of Interdisciplinary Programs.
